For replacing fittings in a smaller property, a 4 yard skip may give useful room without taking the space of a larger builders’ skip. Clearing an outbuilding can produce more bulky wood and packaging than expected, so include those items when comparing the 6 and 8 yard choices.

Small garden cuttings may only call for a mini skip. For large volumes of lighter commercial waste, ask about 14, 20 or 40 yards and explain the vehicle access. Every option below links to its own details; none gives an unlimited allowance for stone, soil or concrete.
Measurements vary between skips. The lorry needs extra room, and bag or volume estimates do not set a weight allowance.

The approach matters as much as the space outside
Main Street and the streets around King Street form part of Doune’s village setting. If your property is reached through a gateway or shared passage, tell us about it before delivery. We arrange the skip around a usable entrance, rather than expecting the lorry to reach every space you can see from the house.

Road permission in Doune
Permission depends on the exact road and position. Stirling Council manages local-road permissions; the A84 is a trunk route, so the responsible authority must be checked for a position there.

Arrange one hire or a planned exchange
If the job will create more waste after the first skip fills, tell us at the start. We can discuss a paid exchange rather than leaving you to overfill. Your phone quote sets out the size, agreed contents, hire period and full charges, including VAT and any permit arrangements.
We deliver to the agreed position. You fill the skip, then call to arrange collection.
Explain the contents of the shed or refit
A shed clearance may mix sound timber, old paint and abandoned electrical tools. Those are not all suitable for the same skip. We agree the ordinary waste that can go in and flag anything that needs a separate arrangement.

Keep paint tins, chemicals, gas cylinders and batteries separate. Do not put unknown roofing sheets or suspected asbestos into the skip. If you uncover something unexpected at the back of an outbuilding, leave it out and call before continuing.
Keep asbestos, paint, oils, fuels, batteries, gas cylinders and electrical items out of a general waste skip. Agree plasterboard, mattresses and carpets separately.

Will the lorry fit through my gate?
Give us the entrance dimensions and describe any bend or overhead obstruction. A skip fitting through a gap does not prove the delivery vehicle can place it there safely.
Does a Doune road address always use the same permit?
No. Give us the proposed position. Local roads and the A84 trunk route do not have the same responsible road authority, and permission is specific to the location.
Can I order another skip while the first is collected?
Call about a paid exchange. We need the next size, contents and access details, and will confirm the arrangements rather than assuming another skip is included in the first hire.
